Cheesy and creamy baked chicken recipe
This chicken recipe is very easy to cook and delivers pleasing results. The simplicity of the ingredients make the recipe an ideal candidate for those days when you need to quickly throw together a nice dinner.
For the greatest ease, buy the chicken breasts already skinned and boned. Those cost the most, however, so if you see a good price on split chicken breasts that still have the bones in them, you can pick those up and then skin and bone the meat.
Recipe ingredients:
4 whole chicken breasts, split, boned, and skinned (about 4 pounds)
8 slices Swiss cheese
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
1/4 cup dry white wine or water
2 cups seasoned stuffing mix
1/4 cup butter, melted
Heat your oven to 350 degrees F and arrange the chicken breasts in a shallow 13 x 9 baking pan. Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast half.
To make the sauce, whisk together in a bowl the condensed soup and the wine (or water). Pour this evenly over the chicken breasts in the baking pan. Now crush the stuffing mix and sprinkle over the chicken and then drizzle the melted butter over the topping. Bake the chicken uncovered for about 1 hour. Chicken is done when the thickest portions of the meat are cooked all the way through and show no signs of pinkness.
