Peanut butter oatmeal recipe

Oatmeal is well established as a power recipe for healthy breakfast eating, but not everyone likes the plain old bowl of boiled rolled oats. Injecting some flavor along with some extra protein and vitamins is accomplished with peanut butter. Adding a scoop of peanut butter to a batch of oatmeal cookies tastes great, and this oatmeal recipe definitely benefits from the addition.

Note that this recipe is for a single serving. Double or quadruple it as necessary if you need to dish up breakfast for a crowd.

Recipe ingredients:

1/2 cup water

1/4 cup quick-cooking oats

Dash of salt

2 teaspoons packed brown sugar

1/4 cup peanut butter

For speedy results use a microwave to make this oatmeal. Using a microwave safe dish, stir together the oats and water with a dash of salt. Bring them to a boil by heating in the microwave for 2 minutes. Adjust the time up or down depending on your microwave's personality. Some microwaves heat foods faster than others.

Then remove from the microwave and stir in the brown sugar and peanut butter. You will have created a yummy and stick-to-your-ribs breakfast that could become your new favorite.
