Spicy chili recipe
There are probably as many styles of shoes as there are chili recipes. Everyone has their own approach. This recipe for spicy chili is a hearty and meaty style packed with beans. It is distinctive because of its seasoning. You will find that the coffee and cocoa ingredients greatly enhance the spicy palette of this chili.
This chili also does not take a long time to make, relatively.
Recipe ingredients
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb lean ground beef
3/4 lb beef sirloin, cubed
1 (14-1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 can dark beer
1/2 cup strong coffee
2 (6-ounce) cans tomato paste
1 can low sodium beef broth
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
3-1/2 Tablespoons chili sauce
1 Tablespoon cumin
1 Tablespoon cocoa
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon cayenne
1 teaspoon coriander
1 teaspoon salt
4 (15-ounce) cans kidney beans (rinsed)
4 chili peppers, chopped
Sauté garlic and onion in oil. Set aside. Brown the sirloin. Set aside, Brown the ground beef and drain off fat. Then in a big pot, combine everything with tomatoes, beer and coffee. Bring to simmer. Add tomato paste, broth, sugar and spices. Simmer covered on low for approximately one hour. Add kidney beans and chopped chili peppers. Simmer for 10 minutes and serve.
