Triple chocolate cake recipe

Although baking desserts from scratch is fun and often delivers superior taste over convenience products, the many commercial baking mixes available can undeniably be the basis for wonderful dessert recipes. This triple chocolate cake recipe that uses a cake mix, pudding mix, and bag of chocolate chips is a memorable example of a convenience food dessert recipe. It is easy to make, delicious, and a great solution for someone who needs to make a dessert without a bunch of complicated ingredients.

Recipe ingredients:

1 3-3/4 oz. package chocolate pudding mix (the kind you have to cook)

2 cups milk

1 package chocolate cake mix (2 layer size)

2 eggs

1 12 oz. package chocolate chips

Grease and flour a bundt pan. Prepare the pudding with the milk according to the package directions. Allow the pudding to cool slightly while you combine the cake mix with the eggs. Blend well. This mixture will be crumbly. Now stir the pudding into the cake/egg mixture. Next fold in the chocolate chips.

Pour the completed mixture into the bundt pan and bake at 350 degrees F for 45 to 55 minutes. Test cake for doneness by gently touching with finger. It should spring back from the touch. Be careful not to over bake this cake and dry it out. Start testing for doneness at 45 minutes.

Cool in the pan for 15 minutes and then remove it from the pan to finish cooling.

This cake does not require a frosting, and frankly does not need it. Even children will eat it without frosting. Of course, you can frost it if you want.
